Upcoming Travels

Our 5th trip to Africa begins on July 2, 2007. Returning to one of

our favorite bush homes, Lewa Downs in northeast Kenya, Don and I

will meet family and friends for several weeks. Some of my greatest

painting experiences have happened on previous visits to this

magical place where the smiling Masai, the vast unforgettable vistas,

those beautiful animals and the warm hospitality make for inspiring

and soul touching experiences that are hard to verbalize. I

anticipate that my 5th trip to Africa this July will be equally as

exciting as previous ones. A visit to the African category on the

Paintings page will give you an idea as to past influences on my

works. I wonder what will influence me this time?

Europe calls again. On the way home from a month in Africa we are

going to spend August in Holland, France, Italy and Turkey. We look

forward to a short visit with an old friend in Holland (our sweet

Hettie), a return to Paris and our favorite haunts, where we lived

for two years in the late eighties, a couple of weeks reconnecting

with good friends outside of Aix. Then on to Istanbul where Turkish

friends have enticed us to spend time with them. We look forward to

visiting the famous bazaars with our friends’ local guidance. They

have promised me that the Bosporus Straights will have a profound

impact on my creative endeavors. I hope so. Will give you an update

on our return.
